Suvendu Adhikari slams TMC from Nandigram protest rally
An assistance booth set up for Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suvendu Adhikari at Nandigram in East Midnapore district was ransacked on Saturday (January 9). The BJP held a silent procession on Monday in protest of the incident. BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari took part in the procession.
After the procession, Shuvendu attacked the Trinamool leaders without taking their names. He said, “I have been attacked many times. I am not afraid to die.”
Participating in a protest rally in Nandigram, Shuvendu Adhikari said, “For the time being, the assistance booth will be closed for several days. I am keeping the office closed.
Adhikari alleged that the TMC government was lodging false cases against BJP workers. “It is unfortunate the way BJP workers are being targeted in the state. We strongly condemn it.
Adhikari has been attacking the TMC and its chief Mamata Banerjee for alleged corruption and the law-and-order situation in the state since he joined the BJP last month.
Suvendu Adhikari has sharply criticized the incident of vandalism in his office at Nandigram. Kanishka Panda, close aid to Suvendu, claims that the Trinamool has vandalized Adhikari’s office. There was clash between the TMC and BJP workers after the incident.
However, the Trinamool Congress has denied allegations of attack on Suvendu's office. Adhikari, meanwhile, claims he has CCTV footage of the attack in his office.
