Coronavirus: Death toll crosses 1,200 in Kolkata says state health bulletin

The number of COVID-19 cases is increasing in the state. According to the state health bulletin, 541 cases have been reported in Kolkata in the last 24 hours.  The total number of deaths in the city stood at 1,203. Presently, the recovery rate is 79.10%.

According to the state health bulletin, 541 COVID-19 cases were reported in Kolkata in a single day. The total number of deaths in the city so far stood at 1,203.

However, the rate of recovery has increased in the state. According to the bulletin by the state health department, 2,964 people were infected in a single day in the state. 3,251 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, while 58 people lost their lives.

The recovery rate in the state is on the rise. On Monday (August 24), the recovery rate was 78.46%. Presently, it has increased to 79.10%. About 37,000 COVID-19 tests were conducted in a single day.
 

The worst affected district is North 24 Parganas. About 600 people were infected with COVID-19. But the rate of recovery is also increasing in this district. So far, 780 people have recovered. 18 people died in the district in a single day.
 

In North 24 Parganas, 590 people were infected in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 30,605 COVID-19 cases were reported. 780 people have recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 24,257. 18 people died in the district in a single day. The total number of deaths rose to 677. The number of active patients is 5,671.
 

In Howrah, 134 people were infected in a single day. So far, 12,590 COVID-19 cases were reported. 265 people have recovered in 24 hours. A total of 10,855 people have recovered in Howrah. 2 people died in one day. As a result, the total number of deaths rose to 340. The number of active patients is 1,395.
 

In Hooghly, 122 people were infected in a single day. So far, a total of 6,938 people have been infected. 86 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. A total of 5,296 people have recovered in Hooghly. 1 person has died in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths is 114.  The number of active patients is 1,528.
 

 In a virtual meeting on Monday (August 24), chief minister Mamata Banerjee said the number of COVID-19 tests in the state has increased. Therefore, the recovery rate has also increased. However, the chief minister said that the number of patients in West Bengal cannot be controlled. The administration is trying hard to stop the spread of COVID-19. Every effort is being made to deal with the COVID-19 situation.
