The White House releases an old video of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro daring Trump, days after US forces captured him in Operation Absolute Resolve. Watch the viral clip showing raids, explosions, and Maduro’s defiant taunt.

In a dramatic development following the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, the White House has released an old video clip showing Maduro defiantly daring former US President Donald Trump. The clip, which has now gone viral, comes just a day after a pre-dawn US military operation, code-named Operation Absolute Resolve, successfully captured Maduro in Caracas.

The video montage features night-vision footage, official briefings, and striking visuals of raids and explosions. It highlights the scale of the operation while emphasising the Venezuelan leader’s past challenge to the United States: “Come get me, don’t be late.”

Operation Absolute Resolve: Large-Scale US Strike in Caracas

According to Trump, the US military carried out a large-scale strike on 3 January, targeting Maduro’s heavily guarded locations in Caracas. The operation reportedly killed at least 40 individuals and caused widespread panic across the Venezuelan capital. Venezuelan forces responded by deploying nationwide, and the country was placed under a state of national emergency.

Maduro and Wife Indicted on Drug and Terror Charges

Following the operation, both Maduro and Flores were flown out of Venezuela and are now facing charges in New York. The unsealed indictment details accusations including narco-terrorism, cocaine importation conspiracies, and possession of machine guns. These charges, when combined with drug trafficking, carry severe prison sentences.

Trump described Maduro as the head of a “narco-terrorist organisation” and confirmed that American forces had successfully neutralised the threat. A photo released on Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, showed Maduro in handcuffs wearing a blacked-out mask, symbolising the success of the operation.

White House Highlights Maduro’s Defiance

The recently released video from the White House underscores Maduro’s earlier taunt: “Come get me.”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the White House stated, “Nicolás Maduro had his chance until he did not. The Trump administration will always defend American citizens against all threats, foreign and domestic.”

The video combines footage of explosions, aircraft movements, and intelligence briefings. It presents the operation as both strategic and decisive while highlighting the risks Maduro had taken by challenging US authorities.

Legal Controversy and International Reactions

While the operation has been hailed in the US as a military and intelligence success, it has also sparked international debate over its legality. Some international law experts argue that the strike could violate the UN Charter and potentially constitute a “crime of aggression.”

Amid rising concerns, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement reaffirming support for the safety and well-being of Venezuelan citizens.

“Recent developments in Venezuela are a matter of deep concern. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation,” the MEA said. It urged all parties to resolve conflicts through peaceful dialogue to ensure regional stability. The Indian Embassy in Caracas has also assured continued support for the Indian community residing in Venezuela.

US Promises Further Action

Trump and his administration have stated that the operation was aimed at bringing Maduro and his wife to justice while neutralising threats to American citizens. The successful operation marks a significant US military intervention in Venezuela, drawing parallels and contrasts with past operations in the Middle East.

The release of Maduro’s defiant clip has gone viral online and symbolises the dramatic turn of events in Caracas, reinforcing the US stance on combating narco-terrorism and global criminal networks.
