The incredible manoeuvrability of the CH-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopters was on show during the Air Display to mark the diamond jubilee celebrations at the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh headquarters on Wednesday.
The air show saw the participation of fighter aircraft like Rafale, Jaguar, Sukhoi-30MKI and MiG-29. The flypast began with skydiving by the Akash Ganga team from an AN-32 aircraft and was followed by dazzling air manoeuvres by the Jaguar aircraft.
Besides the scintillating display by the Chinook, the Apache attack helicopters enthralled the audience who had gathered for the airshow. During the air show, the C130J Super Hercules also displayed an assault landing. The air show commemorated 60 years of the formation of the Air Force Station Udhampur today.

Air Officer Commanding Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Air Vice Marshal Praveen Keshav Vohra, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, and other senior armed forces officers and dignitaries attended the show.
Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, Air Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran, said that the headquarters AOC has worked as a link between the IAF's Delhi-based western command and the northern command of the Army. 'The motive was dominating the Himalayas, and that is what they have been doing for the last 60 years,' he said.
