The President of India has approved the Jeevan Raksha Padak Series Awards for 2023. The awards are distributed across three categories: Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak (3 awardees), Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak (7 awardees), and Jeevan Raksha Padak (21 awardees).

The announcement coincided with the formal launch of the BJP's campaign, marked by the release of the theme song "Sapne Nahi Haqeeqat Bunte Hai, Tabhi Toh Sab Modi Ko Chunte Hai" (We don't just dream, we make it a reality; that's why everyone chooses Modi).

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, a prominent Lingayat leader, is set to rejoin the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. After successful talks with BJP leader Amit Shah in Delhi, Shettar, who had previously switched allegiance to the Congress, is expected to return to the BJP. Greeted by cheering supporters, he reunited with his family amid a media frenzy. Yogiraj, one of three sculptors chosen for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir idols, successfully navigated the jubilant crowd. The other artisans are Ganesh Bhat from Karnataka and Satyanarayan Pandey from Rajasthan.
