Records broken yesterday

The skipper of Indian Women’s cricket, Mitahli Raj became a top scorer in ODIs going past England’s Charlotte Edwards. Raj scored 69 runs yesterday to achieve this fleet. But everything did not go smooth for India, as Australia won by eight wickets to clinch their spot in semi-finals.

It’s not just Raj’s record that made yesterday’s match memorable. There were three more records broken yesterday. And there is one record which happened to miss by an inch. Here are the records that will amaze you:

Not just top-scorer, also the first woman to score 6,000 ODI runs: Most of us praised Raj only for her record as high-scorer. But we have to know that she became the first Woman ever to go past 6,000 runs in ODI Cricket History.

Meg Lanning’s top notch performance to reach 5,000 International runs: Standing till the end, Australia’s Meg Lanning scored 76 runs in yesterday’s match to become one of the few women cricketers to score 5,000 runs in an International career.

One run away to equal the record of the fastest woman to score 3,000 ODI runs: Lanning almost equalled the record of the fastest woman to score 3,000 ODI runs with just one run away. But her teammate Ellyse Perry scored a boundary to give a winning shot for Australia.

Ellyse Perry's four consecutive fifties in World Cup: Perry along with Lanning played a huge role in Australia's win. She scored 60 runs in yesterday's match and became the only woman to get four consecutive fifties in World Cup tournament.
