Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah plays an integral role for his club, Liverpool, having already scored a goal in the new season. Similarly, he plays a vital role in the footballing commitments of his nation.

Egypt is scheduled to play the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers next month. However, Salah would be missing out on serving his side as Liverpool has not granted his release for the same.

"The Egyptian Football Association continues its continuous contacts regarding the task of international players joining their national teams to participate in the World Cup qualifiers, which requires exempting them from travel restrictions imposed on them in the countries in which they play due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Egyptian Football Association has received a letter from Liverpool FC apologising for the unavailability of its player, Mohamed Salah, to join the national team in its next camp, which includes facing Angola in Cairo and Gabon in Franceville during the first and second rounds of the African continent's qualifiers for the World Cup," said Egypt Football Association in a statement.

"The English club's letter referred to the precautionary measures applied in England to confront the outbreak of coronavirus in the world, which puts returnees from some countries in compulsory health isolation for a period of ten days upon their return to England," it reckoned.

The letter also added that Liverpool hoped for EFA to understand its stance. It would put Salah's availability for a few of its crucial games in jeopardy owing to the quarantine regulations by the English authorities. Meanwhile, Liverpool has also taken a similar stance against most of its overseas players.

Liverpool, so far, has had a decent start to the season, winning two out of two and is placed in the second spot of the table. Its next game happens to be against Chelsea on Saturday.
