Subaida had initially told the police that the main door of the house was not locked from inside as their son who was studying in Tamil Nadu was to arrive that night. However, on checking the phone call records of Basheer and Subaida, the police came to the conclusion that Subaida herself was the attacker.
According to reports, she told the police that Basheer’s illicit affairs had led her to commit the crime. She had allegedly disposed of the acid can in front of M B H Hospital while taking Basheer to the hospital which the police recovered during the investigation. They are also looking into the possibility of Subaida having received help from someone else to carry out the crime.
