Stunning passport designs from around the globe
1. Canada

Canada's picturesque landscape has found its way into the country's passport. The trendy new passport, featuring the famous Niagara Falls, the parliament building, and the Bluenose, lights up like Diwali under a UV light (blacklight). These 'secret' images have turned the dull document into an interesting piece of art. These pictures, along with a biometric chip, came into circulation in 2013.
2. Norway

The pages in the Norwegian passport mimics the magnificent northern lights (the phenomena caused by collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth's atmosphere) when placed under a UV light. However, to the naked eye, the passport pages of Norway is an apt representation of Norway's magnificent natural scenery - mountains and fjords et al.
3. China

Evolving from the dull passport design, China, too, has moved on to colourful passport designs. Once again under the magic of blacklight, the Chinese passport reveals the colourful images that represent the country's historic landscapes.
4. United Kingdom

The designs of a UK passport change every five years when they update the passport security features. This time, the document depicts the UK's landmarks such as the London Eye, Houses of Parliament and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
5. Philippines

The country's popular landmarks are depicted in the painted pages of the passport. The wings of the Philippine cockatoo in national colours, metro Manila skyline and the Mayon volcano of Bicol are represented in the passport.
6. Japan

A new passport is in the works for Japanese citizens. The government plans to introduce this new design in 2019 just before the 2020 Olympics that will be held in Tokyo. This will feature a mix of history and modernity. History in the form of shrines, and Katsushika Hokusai’s series of landscape prints called “Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji,” which features this famous landmark across the seasons, among others, and modernity in the form of technology that ensures there is no forgery involved.
7. Finland
Finland's quirky passport design includes a moose running when you flip the pages of the passport like a flip book. This passport has been in circulation since 2012. Watch the video to see this flip book animation.
