The police have recovered deadly weapons from the BJP office in Kannur during a raid conducted on Tuesday.Â
Swords, iron pipes and an S knife were found hidden near the party's district office. The corporation employees found some of the weapons while cleaning the area, and informed it to the police.
The police searched the office premises thoroughly and recovered a few more weapons. A BJP spokesperson has reportedly stated that the party would hold a press conference with a proper explanation regarding the incident.
Ironically, the BJP had kicked off its statewide 'jana raksha yatra' from Kannur last week, to protest and raise awareness against CPM-led "red terrorism" and political violence in Kerala.
Led by national leaders such as party chief Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, the yatra aimed to propagate that CPM was solely responsible for the political murders in the state. The recent development has come as major blow to it.
