A new tourism circuit, Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit, is being prepared based on the entry journey of Shri Ram in Chhattisgarh state during his exile of 14 years.

This year there will be a grand celebration in Navratri

"It is a matter of pride, of self-respect of Chhattisgarh. Construction work has started on the new development project of 2021 -- 'Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit' initiated by honourable Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

The state government is all set to celebrate the launch of this ambitious project on the auspicious occasion of Navratri on October 7, 2021.

The state of Chhattisgarh is full of stories of the exile of Lord Rama and his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana at different places. Stories and songs from generations passed down inspired by the stories of Lord Rama are told and sung in the communities here.

Along with this, Chhattisgarh is also important because it is the Nanihal (birthplace of Mata Kaushalya) of Lord Rama. Chhattisgarh is also the place where Ram became & 'Maryada Purushottam Ram' after being nurtured by his mother's love and upbringing.

"During exile from Ayodhya, Lord Shri Ram spent most of his time in Chhattisgarh. It is our endeavour to cherish the memories associated with Lord Ram and Mata Kaushalya, which is why the government envisioned the Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit project where devotees and tourists would be able to feel the essence of divinity with their every step," Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said.

This grand ceremony will be held at the ancient Kaushalya Mata temple located in Chandkhuri village, about 25 km from Raipur. Apart from music and dance, a laser show and a grand light and sound program will also be organized through LED lights.

Through the light and sound show, the audience will be able to hear and see the story of Lord Ram's exile and Van Gaman Path through colourful lights. This program will also be developed as an annual event in the coming time so that Chhattisgarh can be established as an exciting destination for international and domestic tourists.

The State Tourism Board has chosen the auspicious occasion of Navratri to start its much-enthusiast project -- the Ram Vanagaman Tourist Circuit, which follows the journey route taken by Lord Ram in the region of Chhattisgarh during his exile from Ayodhya.

In the first phase of this project, there is a plan to develop nine places through the forest from where Shri Ram had travelled. These sites include Sitamarhi- Harchowka, Ramgarh, Shivrinarayan, Turturiya, Chandkhuri, Rajim, Sihawa, Jagdalpur and Ramaram.

Yashwant Kumar, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board said, "Our main priority is to develop the identified places of Ram Van Gaman Path as major tourist destinations. Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic, it is our endeavour to motivate people for domestic tourism. Special efforts are being made to make this happen and we are sure that the Ram Vanagaman tourism circuit will be an exciting experience for them."

The goal of the state is to develop and beautify selected sites and convert them into world-class tourist destinations so that people from all over the world can come here, which will boost the tourism of the state.
