Mercy Angels who are officially tied up with the BBMP have ensured 65 Covid victims got a dignified send off
Once people call 108, it is redirected to the special team and then Mercy Angels pick up the body from the hospital which is wrapped in 3 layers of protection
The bodies are taken to the crematorium or a burial ground based on the faith of the person and last rites of the deceased are completed
Each final journey is heart-breaking for the 6 persons of Mercy Angels
Certain times, they breakdown seeing that no family or friends accompany the body during the final journey
The ambulance used for transportation of the body goes into a 16-hour sanitation process sponsored by the BBMP
They said they are looking for more volunteers to join their force
Karnataka has recorded over 9,000 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic
