The Election Commission of India on Thursday responded strongly to the letter of the TMC and said that it is full of insinuations and averments and that it undermines the very foundation of the Constitution.  

Accusing the planned attack on Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, Trinamool Congress general secretary Partha Chatterjee said the Trinamool Congress was on its way to protest the incident. The party will hold a state-wide protest from 3pm to 5pm on Friday (March 12) demanding a neutral role for the Election Commission.  

A parliamentary delegation of the Trinamool Congress will meet Election Commission officials in Delhi on Friday (March 12) to talk about the alleged attack on TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram.

The West Bengal police have filed a case over the attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, following a complaint lodged by TMC leader Sheikh Sufian.  

The TMC claimed that it had learnt from reliable sources that anti-social elements from neighbouring states had entered Nandigram.

After the attack on Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, the TMC said that it will raise the incident of the attack with the Election Commission on Thursday (March 11).  

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the alleged attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that those who are behind the incident should be immediately arrested and punished.
