TMC to hold silent march in Bengal today over attack on Mamata Banerjee
Accusing the planned attack on Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, Trinamool Congress general secretary Partha Chatterjee said the Trinamool Congress was on its way to protest the incident. The party will hold a state-wide protest from 3pm to 5pm on Friday (March 12) demanding a neutral role for the Election Commission.

<p>“The Election Commission of India has appointed P Nirajnayan as the new DG and IGP of West Bengal in place of Virendra. Soon after the change despite having Z+ category security, not a single police was seen near the CM. <p>In a video message from her hospital, Mamata Banerjee said she has sustained injuries in a hand, leg and ligament during the attack, but will resume work in the next two to three days.<br /> </p>

<p>Meanwhile, the Bengal BJP said the party will not indulge in any politics over her injuries but will demand a comprehensive probe into the incident since she had alleged conspiracy behind it.<br /> </p>
