The National Commission for Women has sought a report on the murder and sexual assault of a four-year-old girl in Aluva, Kerala. 

The police received the post-mortem report of the four-year-old girl just before presenting the mother in court after her arrest. The forensic surgeon had found evidence of brutal rape and informed police that the child had been repeatedly abused.

A suspect, who reportedly shouted ‘Free Palestine’ before the shooting, is in custody. The FBI assisted local police, stating there is no ongoing threat. Israeli officials condemned the attack as anti-Semitic terrorism.
