Speaking of the incredible opportunities in India, the Qualcomm CEO said that the country is a big market, but the company also sees it as a big export market.

"It is the right time for India to not only manufacture for the Indian market but also plan to serve the need of other countries," sources quoted Amon as saying.

On his part, sources said, Prime Minister Modi assured Qualcomm that India will proactively work on the proposals made by them.

Stressing upon the fact that India had the scale for ambitious projects, the Prime Minister said that India has prepared for 5G standards and urged Qualcomm to actively participate as they did in the case of NAVIK.

According to sources, Prime Minister Modi also said that since Qualcomm had already had faith in the Indian talent, it can now trust Indian talent and start manufacturing with the advantage the PLI scheme offers.

While reiterating the country's new liberalised drone policy, PM Modi said that Qualcomm could take part in new opportunities in the new emerging market.
