One of the most anticipated SUVs in the nation right now is the Mahindra Thar 5-door. The brand-new Thar has been in development for a long, and in the past several months, the SUV has been often seen conducting testing on Indian roads.

Despite the fact that the firm hasn't made any official announcements on the new Mahindra Thar, a recent media report suggested a potential debut date for the Mahindra Thar 5-door. The new Mahindra Thar 5-door will launch on August 15, 2023, according to the report. Notably, the current Mahindra Thar made its premiere on July 4th with a 3-door body style.

The Mahindra Thar has a sizable fan base in the nation, and customers must endure lengthy delivery delays.

To appeal to a wider audience, Mahindra also introduced a cheap RWD 4X2 variant of the Thar earlier this year. After the Maruti Suzuki Jimny made its debut in India, it was anticipated that the Thar brand would suffer, but that hasn't happened.

The Mahindra Thar 5-door's boxy design and lofty pillars will remain a feature of the SUV. The vehicle's front and back are thought to be identical to the present Thar, but it will have longer rear doors and a longer wheelbase to provide a roomier interior. It's also rumoured that the SUV will get new alloy wheels.

The automobile is rumoured to have the same 2.0L gasoline and 2.2L diesel engines under the hood. Mahindra has extended the wheelbase so that the rear doors could be added. In comparison, the rear doors are smaller than the front doors.

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the Jimny in its 5-door avatar in the Indian market. Force is also working on a 5-door version of the Gurkha.
