Watch: Cannoli cafe owners make fun of manager's English; spark outrage on social media

A video on Cannoli cafe owners mocking their employee for his lack of English proficiency has sparked outrage on social media.

In the video, the women introduced themselves as Uzma and Dia - owners of Cannoli by Cafe Soul in Islamabad ask their cafe manager Awais, to introduce himself in English.

As Awais start to speak, both women started laughing and can be heard saying, "This is the 'beautiful' English he speaks," says one of them in a mocking tone, while the other adds, "This is what we pay for."

However, the women faced severe criticism on social media as the video went viral and #BoycottCannoli became the top trends in Pakistan.

The video sparked outrage in social media slamming the cafe owners and garnered over 8.7 lakh views on the microblogging platform.

As the backlash grew, the official page of Cannoli offered an explanation of the incident.
