In an explosive exclusive interview to Asianet Newsable's Sunita Iyer, Author, former DySP Goa Police and close friend of Sachin Vaze, Shirish Thorat, says that he has no doubt that the suspended Mumbai cop is involved to a great degree in the Antilia case, currently being investigated by the NIA. However, Shirish Thorat adds that Sachin Vaze could not have done this alone and there are definitely more cogs in the machine.

Shirish Thorat also goes on to say that he spoke to his 30-year-old friend Sachin Vaze just two days before the NIA arrested him & the latter expressed that he was nervous and apprehensive.

He adds, "It bewilders me that how a man of Sachin Vaze's intelligence and experience can do something as silly as this."

Talking about Sachin Vaze's sudden reinstatement in the Mumbai Police force as the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, 16 years later, Shirish Thorat goes on to add, "Sachin Vaze was a Shiv Sena loyalist and his reinstatement was the 8th wonder of the world. Only the CM could have reinstated him."

Meanwhile, defending former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, following his extortion allegations of Rs 100 cr, Shirish Thorat says, "Param Bir Singh did voice his concerns to the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and other leaders even before he could release the letter. An officer of his stature won't make a frivolous charge of this magnitude."
