World Day Against Child Labour is observed on June 12. This year’s theme for World Day against Child Labour is ‘children shouldn’t work in fields, but on dreams.’

The issue of child labour is not one that should be ignored but is, if we take the number of cases reported every year. Over 12% of children are being subjected to labour. Despite the presence of rules, the issue still plagues the world. The complex issue is linked to other issues like poverty and infrastructure. The real change that chid right’s activists and child welfare organizations are trying to bring about over the years is the change in attitude and perspective. Over 200 million children across the world are engaged in some sort of labour.
