Principal caught red-handed for stealing groceries rationed for school

A government school principal along with two others were caught red-handed by villagers for stealing groceries meant for Moraji Desai Residential School at Malur in Bengaluru outskirts.

Bengaluru: Close on the heels of 50 students falling ill at a government school in Kolar after being provided unhygienic food, another incident came to light on Friday. This time a school principal was caught red-handed while stealing groceries meant for students of Morarji Desai Residential School.

The culprit has been identified as Manjunath. Villagers in Malur received information of groceries going missing consistently in the last few months and kept an eye on Manjunath whom they believed was the suspect.

On Friday, Manjunath and two of his associates were allegedly loading groceries like dal, oil, rice, sugar, atta, spices and other items into a tempo when villagers caught them red-handed. They locked them up in a room and later informed the police.
