Ola, Uber to help differently-abled cast vote this Lok Sabha election in Bengaluru
The nodal office for people with disability, attached to Bengaluru electoral office, has tied up with cab service providers Ola and Uber to shuttle specially-abled voters from their homes to the polling stations to cast vote.
Bengaluru: To ensure the differently-abled get to exercise their franchise, Bengaluru electoral office has tied up with Ola and Uber to help them with transport services to the polling booths. According to nodal officer, 350 Ola cabs have been deployed in the south of the city so far.
These cabs are provided by Ola under their CRS activity to help such voters by driving them to the polling stations, helping them cast their vote and dropping them back. Each cab will be assigned to 10 such voters. A message will be sent to the mobile phone of such voters, and they will be picked up accordingly.
This apart, Uber has given 40 individual cabs with hydraulics wheelchair-mounted facility.
