Heavy rains in Bengaluru uproot banyan tree; life thrown out of gear

A banyan tree got uprooted on National Highway 207 as heavy rains lashed Bengaluru. Activities came to a standstill even as villagers pitched in along with rescue staff to clear the debris. 

Bengaluru: The rains that lashed Bengaluru on May 15 have literally thrown life out of gear in the city. National Highway 207, connecting Whitefield to Chikka Tirupati was a mess as a banyan tree, got uprooted, owing to the massive rains. Villagers joined hands with the rescue personnel in clearing the debris.
