Bengaluru: A private initiative in Bengaluru allows anyone to rent land and grow organic produce. All that needs to be done is to decide what needs to be produced and pay a rent of Rs 2 per square feet every month.

Swayam Krishi -- a self-farming establishment in Lakshmipura -- gives everyone an opportunity to get away from the online-food lifestyle and return to their roots. It allows people, especially new generation Bengalureans to understand the farming culture and the importance of food growth.

A concept that began with just one customer has 150 odd customers now. The customers arrive when the produce is ready, to pick them and take it home.
