Following the political stalemate in Mysuru between Ex CM Siddaramaiah and MLA Tanveer Sait over recently concluded mayoral polls, a notice was issued to Sait seeking explanation.

It is said that Siddaramaiah was upset as despite his instructions to Sait to not give up on the mayor seat, he deliberately settled for the deputy mayor seat. This has resulted in moral defeat for Siddaramaiah.

Sait who met Shivakumar on Tuesday, said the decision was taken after local arrangements and at the best interest of the party. Later speaking to the media he said he is a loyal Congress soldier and in three days he will give a detailed explanation on the situation that led to Congress giving up on the mayor seat and settling for deputy mayor post as the matter has now reached AICC.

When reporters asked why he did not meet CLP leader Siddaramaiah after the election, he said he will meet all the leaders in the party as per time and situation.
