Passengers stranded as BMTC transport union leader stops employees from performing duties in Bengaluru

Demanding regularisation of services for contract workers in Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation, BMTC union leaders barged in various depots and prevented the drivers and conductors from doing duties.

Passengers wanting to report to work and dependent on BMTC services were severely impacted and engaged in spat with union leaders. As tension escalated, the police arrived and arrested a union leader and took him in the jeep.
