Bismillah Education Trust, a Muslim educational institution, was raided by the CBI for allegedly taking funds from Ponzi scam accused firm IMA.

CBI officials visited BET in Bengaluru South's Gurappana Palya locality and sought details from the administration about the transaction.

The education institution claimed to have received Rs 18 lakh legally. But sources said that IMA founder Mansoor Khan donated to selective institutions to gain more publicity and influence members of the minority community to invest in his firm.

VK Obaidullah School in Shivajinagar also received funds for renovation from IMA following which the school enrolment shot up. But after the institution was mired in controversy and its account was seized, teachers hired on a contract basis stopped being paid salaries. Now parents are worrying about their children's future.
