Mass fish kill spreads panic in Karnataka village

Hundreds of dead fish floating in Jeegeri lake has spread concern among villagers of Gajendragad. As few defied the lockdown and took to swimming in the lake, the villagers now think someone may have carried virus which has caused the fish to die
 

Gadag: Swimming in a lake that now carries several dead fish that float has created panic among villagers of Gajendragad village in north Karnataka.

The villagers expressed fear and think that someone who swam in the lake may carry this infection and this may have polluted the water causing a mass fish kill.

The villagers have demanded an investigation and the lake water to be tested as it is used for agriculture as well as drink for cattle
