Karnataka transport strike: Rs 53 crore loss to exchequer

After four-day transport strike ended following talks between ministers and Union employees, now sources in the respective corporations say, in all the government has witnessed a loss of Rs 53 crores to state exchequer.

 

Realising that the agitation could haunt the government during gram panchayat polls on December 22 and 27, CM directed both Transport Minister Laxman Savadi and Revenue Minister R Ashoka to hold talks and break the deadlock.

 

After written assurance from the government about looking into the demands from the Union representing the employees of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation, North East, West Transport Corporation employees announced to end the strike.
