Heavy rain and strong winds uproot trees, kill 2 in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Heavy rains lashed Bengaluru on Tuesday evening and left the city battered. Several trees and electric poles were uprooted across the city. In a tragic incident, a 45-year-old woman named Hema died when heavy rain and breeze uprooted a tree, which fell on her while she was riding her vehicle near Begur in Bengaluru.

In another similar incident, cement bricks from an under construction building came crashing down on a young woman named Shilpa (22). The under construction building was adjacent to Shilpa's house in Nandini Layout, Bengaluru.
