Mamata to farmers: Don't stop protesting

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee dialled up farmers protesting at Delhi's Singhu border against the Centre's agriculture reform laws and assured them that her party, the TMC, stands by them.

Mamata called up TMC MP Derek O'Brien's phone and spoke to the farmers on speaker.

"I will say to all of you, don't stop agitating untill the government takes back these black laws. Also protest against the Essential Commodities Act. That's killing common citizens," he says.

Four telephone calls were to different groups from Haryana and Punjab who shared their demands and madeit clear that they wanted the farm bills repealed.
