Coronavirus: COVID-19 positive mother in isolation longs to meet her new-born
A coronavirus positive woman being treated at JIMS Hospital in Gadag has been kept in isolation and longs to see her infant. But what is even sadder is that the infant is in care at a neonatal centre with no one to pay her a visit.
Gadag: In a heart-wrenching situation, a mother was not fortunate enough to hear her new-born’s first cry or see the infant as she has been receiving COVID-19 treatment in Gadag. A pregnant woman admitted in JIMS Hospital in Gadag gave birth and was immediately shifted to an isolation ward as she is COVID-19 positive. More unfortunate was that the neither the father of the infant nor family members visited the child fearing they would contract the deadly virus. The infant is being treated at the neonatal centre in the hospital and the authorities are awaiting COVID test reports of the infant.
