Coronavirus: Bengaluru Class 12 student raises funds on social media to help health workers
A school student, through social media, has raised funds to donate protective gears to health workers. She collected Rs 79,000 through social media
Bengaluru: Nithya Ganesan, a school student, raised funds to donate protective gears to health workers of the Kidwai Cancer Hospital, Bengaluru.
The protective gears include, face shields, goggles, face masks, gloves, foot operated dispensers and sanitisers.
Nithya said she was inspired by the efforts the health workers were doing for the people and she wanted to give back to them through this way.
She had talked with doctors of the Kidwai Hospital and then came to know that they wanted some things, so Nithya started a coronavirus fund raiser on social media. She collected Rs 79,000 from the fund raiser and bought the necessary things for the health workers. Within two weeks the amount was collected for the equipment through social media.
