Coronavirus: After Sunday lockdown, Karnataka witnesses huge influx of people from Tamil Nadu
After Sunday’s lockdown, Karnataka witnessed huge inflow of people from Tamil Nadu as there is steep rise in coronavirus cases in the neighbouring state
Anekal (Karnataka): Karnataka observed a 33-hour long complete lockdown from Saturday (July 4) 8 pm to Monday (July 6) 5 am due to a rise in COVID-19 cases for the past few weeks.
However, the capital city Bengaluru witnessed a huge influx of people on Monday morning from neighbouring state Tamil Nadu. State border Attibele check post recorded thousands of people from Tamil Nadu registering their entry into the state.
Authorities made sure to allow only people with e-pass to enter the state while those without it were told to return. Coronavirus is on the rise in Tamil Nadu and this is seen to be the reason behind people coming to Karnataka.
