11 members defy lockdown, offer namaz at masjid in Karnataka’s green zone Kolar

Following a complaint from the public that some of the members of Muslim community are holiding prayers at the masjid despite lockdown orders, Tasildhar Shobita raided the masjid and asked the police to book them. Out of 11 members, cases against 10 have been registered.

Despite lockdown and appeals from community elders not to pray at the masjid during Ramazan, 11 members defied lockdown and were found offering namaz.

Upon hearing complaints from the public, Kolar tasildhar Shobita raided the place and ordered the violators to be booked.

Speaking to Asianet Newsable, the tasildhar said, "The fortune thing is that no one was an outsider and the risk of infection is not there. These persons, who were booked, are out on station bail. However, they will be subjected to tests and quarantine.
