With 779 COVID-19 cases, over 150 containment areas, Bengaluru mayor wants SSLC, PUC exams postponed
As the government has declared conducting of pending second PUC and SSLC exams this month, Bengaluru mayor expressed his concerns as the BBMP area has about 400 active COVID-19 cases and students coming from containment areas may infect others.
Bengaluru: The Karnataka government’s decision to conduct the pending II PUC and SSLC exams has left Bengaluru mayor Gautham Kumar Jain worried. As the city still has 396 active cases (total 779) and 191 containment areas, students residing in these areas and appearing for exams are exposed to vulnerable situations. And allowing them to come out from containment areas and appearing for exams is like asking for trouble. Keeping this in mind, the mayor is contemplating writing to the government to postpone all exams.
