Rapid COVID testing with results within 20 minutes will help better treatment plan: BBMP commissioner
COVID-19 positive cases and mortality in Bengaluru is increasing every day. The BBMP has realised that many patients reached hospital late and hence the complications. In order to get this addressed, the civic agency will bring rapid testing in its limits with which a COVID suspect will get results within 20 minutes
Bengaluru: Worried about the severity of the coronavirus and cases becoming complicated as results come only after three days, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), in its bid to give early treatment and better care to COVID-19 suspects, will come up with rapid testing. This was stated by BBMP commissioner BH Anil Kumar. With the latest rapid testing facility, a patient can get the result within 20 minutes. According to the commissioner, once this is done, a patient can be sent for early treatment and better care at hospital. In case a person has other health conditions and a weak immune system, such patients can be given advance care as only such patients’ conditions turn critical.
