Bengaluru: During rounds, a COVID-19 positive pregnant woman caught the attention of Bengaluru mayor Gautham Kumar Jain. Moved by her plight of trying to find hospital for child delivery, he placed this matter in the BBMP Council meet in presence of revenue minister R Ashoka who also happens to be COVID care in-charge for the city and got an exclusive hospital for such patients.

At first, a Wilson Garden maternity home will be converted into Pregnant COVID mothers’ care centre and later another hospital is expected to be set up on similar grounds. Till Thursday, Bengaluru had about 17,000-plus active COVID cases and the numbers are increasing.
