BBMP books 2,997 people for not wearing masks, not maintaining distance in Bengaluru

The BBMP has deployed marshals to bring in discipline among its residents who do follow rules like wearing masks, maintaining social distance. Officials have got cracking and have fined nearly 2,997 people already and have collected fines amounting to nearly Rs 6 lakh

 

Next time you step out, make sure you are wearing your face mask and do not forget to maintain distance. Otherwise you may end up paying a fine and could also be shamed in public.

 

According to the BBMP, on Monday, dozens of BBMP marshals out on the roads caught the public and fined them for not wearing face masks and failure to maintain distance.

 

Officials have booked 2,997 people and collected a fine amount of Rs 5.99 lakh.

The BBMP has made clear that it will intensify its crackdown as it desperately wants to bring down the number of cases.
