Attack on health workers surfaces from Vijayapura in North Karnataka
After shameful incidents of assault on health warriors and ASHA workers in Saraipalya and Padarayanpura in Karnataka, now, ASHA workers have been heckled and attacked at Vijayapura. The ASHA worker had gone for COVID-19 survey.
While incidents of attack on ASHA workers in Bengaluru's Saraipalaya and Padarayanpura are still fresh in the minds of people, now, Vijayapura district in Karnataka has reported another such case.
ASHA Worker Savitri Badiger had come to Hejjala village on Wednesday for coronavirus survey and awareness programme. After seeing her, a woman picked up a quarrel and twisted her hand. The attacker also snatched the survey book on coronavirus.
The attacker's family joined and confronted Badiger's frequent visits to their village. The incident happened at Sindhagi Police limits.
