Fully functional hospital in BBMP limits but no doctors and nurses. Thanks to the increase in COVID-19 cases and the fear of getting infected among doctors has put the entire health system in shock. A director of a hospital appealed with folded hands as he needs doctors and nurses badly to attend to COVID-19 patients

Bengaluru: With 8,167 active COVID-19 patients and the new cases touching the four-figure mark in the last two days, it has sent even doctors and nurses in to a panic mode. Almost all the doctors and nurses from the charity based HBS hospital in Shivajinagar have abandoned the medical facility. The director Taha Mateen made a humble appeal and begged doctors and nurses to give only six hours a day. He made an emotional appeal by saying, like the way Army, police and fire force persons become frontline workers during emergency, now due to medical emergency, it is doctors turn to be frontline warriors. The video has gone viral and also has indicated the pathetic health system.
