Police have announced an inquiry into the controversial video calling of the accused in the Kevin murder case. Kottayam SP Harishankar said that the Special Branch DYSP was instructed to check if the police had failed. Police actions in the Kevin case were already reportedly controversial.
The accused was taken to the Ettumanoor court yesterday evening (June 8), and the police spotted the seventh accused Shafin in a video call with his relative.Â
The AR camp police were allegedly present with the accused. The investigating officer in charge of the case, DySP Gireesh P Sari also had accompanied the accused. The court had kept the nine accused in custody.
The Kevin murder case was embroiled in controversy right from the beginning. The video call is the latest one to add to it.
