In a gruesome incident a man who lent money to another was kidnapped and killed for insulting the debtor in front of his new wife, reported Kannada Prabha.
In an equally filmy style within hours of the murder RT Nagar and rural police caught all the 21 accused involved. Junaid, a sheep trader, had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from one Noor Ahmad a few days ago.
Since he did not repay it on time Noor Ahmed arrived with his boys at Junaids’ house, semi-stripped him in front of his wife and assaulted him. Junaid was married 7 months ago and the insult in front of his wife enraged him. He decided to seek revenge.
He got his friends together and called Noor Ahmad to meet him at night at J C Nagara. Noor went with his friends to RT Nagar grounds next to Deve Gowda Road V K R Hospital at 1 am in the night. Junaid and his gang threatened Noor and his friends and kidnapped them to Gauribidanur.
Locals who witnessed this immediately alerted the police. Control room. Alerted RT Nagar police arrived at the spot and found the number plate. Inquiry revealed that the car had GPS installed. Following that the police chased the car. At around 2.30 am police located that the car was in Gowribidanur and alerted the rural police. Rural police PSI Avinash immediately got his team and followed the car tracing the GPS.
Near a farm house at Chigateri the police found a car stuck in mud slush. On suspicion the police questioned them and found that Junaid’s gang was in the same farm house. The police rushed in to the farm house and found that by then Junaid and his friends had assaulted Noor and his friends with lethal weapons. Noor had died and 2 more were in critical condition. Police arrested Junaid and friends and got the two serious persons to the hospital.
Rural PSI Avinash said the police first thought there would be five to six boys but were stunned to see 21 boys in 3 cars. For a minute he hesitated but immediately took out his service pistol and aimed and said if they don’t surrender he would shoot. They knelt down and surrendered. Around 10 boys were beating up Noor inside the house and the rest 11 were watching outside the house.
The farm house belongs to one Naveen which was taken on lease by Junaid’s friend Ashraf to stock sheep for Ramzan. Junaid had thought the police wou7ld never find them there. Junaid confessed to police that Noor semi stripped him in front of his wife and assaulted and that is why he killed him.
North DCP Chethan Singh Rathod said at around 1.45 am locals called and alerted the police control room. Though the police acted immediately Noor was killed by the time police reached.
