Jaipur: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday (October 26) said that to arrest the spread of Covid-19, the state government is considering making wearing masks mandatory in the state. For this, a bill will be proposed in the upcoming assembly session.

According to the release, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said coronavirus can be avoided only by adopting measures such as masks, social distancing and washing hands repeatedly.

The CM said the state government is considering making wearing face masks mandatory and a bill will be brought in this regard in the assembly session.

Interacting with district collectors, college principals and other officials through a video conference held to review the outcome of a movement against coronavirus, Gehlot said every section of society should join the government to make this campaign successful.

Urging people to avoid bursting crackers on Diwali, the chief minister said the pollution caused by fireworks increases the risk of spreading Covid-19 virus and adversely affects the health of the infected persons and those who have recovered.

“As the medical experts have suggested, we should celebrate Diwali without crackers and inspire others to save lives from corona,” he said during a dialogue on the success of ‘No Mask-No Entry-Public Movement against Corona’ campaign with officials, NCC scouts, and coordinators associated with Nehru Yuva Kendras.

Health minister Raghu Sharma, Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra, Higher Education Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati and senior officials were present in the meeting.
