Donald Trump is going to be the 45th President of the United States of America and people is that country, especially the immigrant Indian students, are losing their mind over it. And this has all happened because of Trump’s pre-election protectionist rhetoric.

The students have also become over-cautious because they do not know whether they will be able allowed to stay back in the US and work once they complete their education.

The Indian students, who had once aspired to go the US and complete their higher studies, are not even considering that country as an option currently.

Narayanan Ramaswamy, partner, education and skill development sector, KPMG in India felt that Trump’s remark on H-1B visa issue has prompted a number of parents to reconsider their decision of sending their children to the United States of America.

Ramaswamy also stated that studying in the US is definitely an expensive affair and thus the students usually stay back for some time and work there.

UK, which was also one of the hot destinations, suffered like this after Brexit happened earlier this year.

The rising protests in several universities across the United States of America are also one of the reasons so as to why the Indian students are unsure about pursuing higher studies there.
