Both 'Karuppu' and Drishyam are currently ruling the box office. Suriya's 'Karuppu' is still going strong a week after its release, having already crossed the ₹200 crore mark. On its 8th day, the film collected ₹7.80 crore in India, its lowest single-day collection so far. 'Drishyam 3' actually earned more on the same day. However, with the weekend coming up, everyone expects 'Karuppu' collections to pick up again, possibly hitting the ₹250 crore mark in the next two days.

What's the scene with Drishyam 3?

Meanwhile, Mohanlal's thriller 'Drishyam 3' is making waves in theatres. This third film in director Jeethu Joseph's crime thriller series got a fantastic opening. Though the second-day collections saw a small dip, the magic of 'Georgekutty' is still strong with the audience. The highlight is the film's climax, which has everyone excited for 'Drishyam 4' and is causing a huge buzz on social media.

Even with a drop in collections, 'Drishyam 3' stands tall

According to a Sacnilk report, 'Drishyam 3' collected around ₹11.05 crore in India on its second day. This brings the film's total domestic collection to ₹26.90 crore. The film had a massive opening day, earning ₹15.85 crore. This means the second-day collections saw a 31.5% drop. The film's overall occupancy on day two was 52.47%.

Drishyam 3 is nearing the 100 crore collection mark

Globally, 'Drishyam 3' is all set to join the 100 crore club. The film is expected to cross this milestone with its Saturday collections. On its second day, the movie earned ₹20 crore from overseas markets, bringing its total international gross to ₹45 crore. In India, the film's gross collection stands at ₹39.94 crore. In total, the worldwide gross collection is ₹75.94 crore.

Collections in other languages

Mohanlal's previous blockbuster, 'Empuraan', had collected over ₹32 crore in India in just two days, a record 'Drishyam 3' has not yet broken. However, it is performing much better than his other recent films. Interestingly, 'Drishyam 3' is doing great business in the Telugu market too, not just in Malayalam. The Malayalam version has collected ₹23.35 crore in India, while the Telugu version has earned ₹2.20 crore. The other two versions, Kannada (₹30 lakh) and Tamil (₹85 lakh), have not even crossed the ₹1 crore mark.
