Yash’s Toxic is set to hit theatres on August 26, and the film has already created a major buzz at the box office. Advance bookings have witnessed an extraordinary response, with shows selling out rapidly across Karnataka.
The demand has also pushed ticket prices significantly higher, particularly in Bengaluru, where moviegoers are reportedly paying as much as Rs 2,000 for tickets to select premium and ultra-premium shows.
Toxic sells over 25,000 tickets every hour
The advance booking response for Toxic has been particularly strong in Karnataka. Several multiplexes reportedly saw opening-day shows sell out within minutes after bookings opened.
More than 25,000 tickets were being sold every hour on BookMyShow, highlighting the enormous demand surrounding Yash’s upcoming film.
The film has reportedly set a new benchmark for advance bookings for a Kannada film, with the pre-release response being described as one of the biggest ever seen for the industry.
Bengaluru ticket prices climb up to Rs 2,000
While demand continues to rise, ticket prices for Toxic have also surged in Bengaluru.
At single-screen theatres, regular tickets are priced around Rs 250-300. At multiplexes, standard seats are available for approximately Rs 350-500, while premium seats and special shows can cost between Rs 600 and Rs 800.
Tickets for premium multiplex screens are reportedly priced between Rs 900 and Rs 1,500. At some ultra-premium screens, moviegoers are paying as much as Rs 1,900-2,000 for a single ticket.
The steep pricing comes even before the film's theatrical release, underlining the level of anticipation surrounding Yash’s return to the big screen.
Toxic ticket prices vary across Karnataka
The pricing is not limited to Bengaluru. Ticket rates differ considerably across other major cities in Karnataka.
In Mysuru, regular tickets are priced between Rs 200 and Rs 400, while premium tickets range from Rs 400 to Rs 700. In Mangaluru, regular tickets cost around Rs 200-350 and premium tickets are priced at Rs 350-600.
In Hubballi, Dharwad, Tumakuru, Shivamogga, Davanagere, Raichur and Kalaburagi, regular tickets are available for approximately Rs 150-300, while premium tickets range between Rs 300 and Rs 500.
In Udupi, regular tickets are priced around Rs 180-350, with premium tickets costing Rs 350-600. Kundapura has similar rates, with regular tickets ranging from Rs 150-300 and premium seats from Rs 300-500.
The Toxic craze is also being felt outside Karnataka. In major cities such as Mumbai and Delhi, tickets for the film are reportedly being sold for around Rs 800-900.
With four days still to go before its August 26 release, Toxic has already generated exceptional advance-booking momentum. If the current trend continues, Yash’s film could be headed for a massive opening at the box office.
