BTS Speaks Hindi in Viral Google Ad, Delighting Indian Fans
Global music phenomenon BTS has sent the internet into a complete meltdown and left Indian fans jokingly asking for their Aadhaar cards, following a viral promotional video released by Google India on Instagram. The reel, captioned "Look what BTS can do with Google Gemini," showcases the internationally acclaimed K-pop group interacting with Google's advanced AI tool. However, it was a special localised twist that stole the show: members of the group can be heard speaking smooth Hindi phrases.
The clip opens with the members saying, "Namaste India! Kaise hain aap sab? Humne aapko miss kiya!" (Namaste India! How are you all? We missed you!) The crossover immediately triggered an enthusiastic wave of reactions across social media. Fans flooded the comment section in disbelief and excitement, with one social media user writing, "Jin's Hindi is better than most Hindi-speaking actors!" Another amused fan joked, "Give Jin his Aadhaar card and PAN card right now!" View this post on Instagram A post shared by Google India (@googleindia)
Hopes for an India Concert Revived
BTS has not officially confirmed a concert date in India on its current schedule. The group's ARIRANG World Tour, which began on April 9, 2026, in Goyang, South Korea, is scheduled to continue through March 2027, with 79 shows across 34 cities. India was not part of the tour's initial confirmed locations. However, additional dates and regions have been teased, leaving the possibility of further announcements.
During the August 2026 Google India campaign, the members discussed the prospect of touring India. Suga expressed his desire to meet Indian ARMYs, while J-Hope asked, "If BTS were to tour India, where should they go?" Mumbai was specifically mapped out as a key destination in the discussion.
The group has previously revealed that Mumbai was scheduled as a stop on its 2020 Map of the Soul tour before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the concert to be cancelled. The members have also said they owe Indian fans a live performance following the cancellation. (ANI)
