Suriya has scored another hit with his latest movie, `Vishwanath and Sons`. The film, which released last week, is running successfully in theatres. It has really clicked with family audiences, who are flocking to see it. Even with new movies out this Friday, its collections didn't drop; in fact, they actually went up.

Vishwanath and Sons 8-day collections
The movie `Vishwanath and Sons` earned ₹4.50 crore on its eighth day, which is ₹30 lakh more than its Thursday collection of ₹4.20 crore. This proves the film is set to do even better over the weekend. In just 8 days, it has raked in a total of ₹149.77 crore, almost entering the ₹150 crore club. The India gross is ₹99.52 crore, with a net of ₹86.10 crore. The film also made ₹1.5 crore overseas on its eighth day, bringing the total to ₹50.26 crore.

Vishwanath and Sons break-even target
Interestingly, the film is earning more in its Telugu version than in Tamil. On day 8, the Telugu version made ₹2.40 crore, while the Tamil one made ₹1.85 crore. The movie's budget was ₹130 crore, and it did a theatrical business of about ₹90 crore. This means it needs to gross ₹180 crore to be declared a hit. Since it has already crossed ₹150 crore, it will likely hit its break-even point in the coming week.

Venky Atluri directed `Vishwanath and Sons`, which stars Suriya and Mamitha Baiju in the lead.
