Swara Bhaskar turns writer; pens love story
"The script is a love story. It is a love triangle. It is a messy story with a lot of melodrama. It has a lot of typical Hindi film conflicts. It is a story of one girl, two boys," Swara told reporters here.
Â
The Tanu Weds Manu Returns star said she started writing the script hoping to play the female lead, but realised that the male characters turned out more interesting.
Â
When asked if she would be starring in the film, the 28-year-old actress said, "I hope so. I hope I don't have to audition for my film. I had written it wanting to play the female character, but now that it is over, I think both the male characters are very interesting."Â
Â
Swara was a part of the third edition of "New Voices Fellowship for Screenwriters".
Â
This year the programme selected scripts which were apparently gender-sensitive, women-centric and driven by well-defined women characters.
Â
The Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actress said she started writing scripts as she was not happy with the roles being offered to her.
Â
"I don't consider myself a writer now. When I started writing this script, I wasn't very happy with the roles I was being offered. I thought I should write something for me," she said.
Â
"So I wrote this script as an actor, for myself. But only when I started writing I realised the charters are not in your direct control, you need to find them," Swara said.
Â
The actress said writing was a "difficult" experience for her and wishes the film goes on floor next year.
Â
"It was a very interesting and difficult experience for me. Every story should reflect reality; I hope mine does too... I want to pitch this film to producers, directors and hope by next year work begins on it. I would also want Aanand (L Rai) sir to listen to it," she said.
Â
Swara has worked with Rai on Tanu Weds Manu franchise and Raanjhanaa.
